Haunted Happenings in Primary One ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽƒ

27th Oct 2023

We’ve had a very busy week in P1! There's lots of photos to look through and keep you all busy over mid-term! ๐Ÿ“ท

We have been looking at ‘Room on the Broom’ and finding all the rhyming words in the book. P1 especially enjoyed all the Hallowe’en themed words they could find! ๐Ÿงน๐Ÿง™‍โ™€๏ธ

On Monday, we took part in some ‘Maths Week Ireland’ tasks. We went on a shape hunt around the school, counted all the windows and counted our steps to see how long the playground was. Miss McElholm helped us count 135 steps – that’s a lot!! โž•๐Ÿพ

On Wednesday we went on an Autumn walk to the Beech Hill with P3. We spent lots of time in nature and found leaves, twigs and conkers.๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ We also had a race with our sticks in the river – we talked about how they didn’t travel very fast because the water was so still. ๐ŸŒŠ๐ŸŒด We also talked about Autumn – how the trees change, how it can get colder and darker and how to stay safe.

Miss McElholm, Gillian and Rachael also helped us to make chocolate apples for our snack to get into the Hallowe’en spirit this week – they were very tasty!๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ

P1 have also been having lots of spooky fun in the play area for Hallowe’en. We have been making spooky spells in the sand, building dungeons for the witch and I think the children managed to turn Gillian invisible at one stage!๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿง™‍โ™€๏ธ

I’ve also included some photos of the P1s dressed up for Hallowe’en – don’t they all look amazing! ๐ŸŽƒ

Have a lovely mid-term break everyone! I’ll see you all next week! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘‹
